The documentary Knowledge and Action - Climate Change Impacts in Asian Cities and Ways to Adapt was developed and produced by CMF for ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability and outlines the AsianCitiesAdapt-Project. It brought together science and policy making in order to identify the impacts of climate change and to develop concrete local adaptation strategies in four Indian cities as well as in four cities of the Philippines.

The documentary features city officials, citizens, scientists and ICLEI experts from India, the Philippines and Europe and their reflections on the impacts of climate change at the local level. It captures various individual stories of how local governments and stakeholders in these two Asian countries are dealing with climate change impacts and its consequences. It particularly highlights the importance of good communication, proactive planning and simple measures to help communities cope with the impacts of climate change under increasingly challenging urban conditions.

As part of the the production of the film, several ICLEI offices worked together with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) to support adaptation planning processes in eight cities throughout India (Kochi, Howrah, Madurai and Visakhapatnam) and the Philippines (San Fernando, Tuguegarao, Baguio and Dagupan).

The film was launched in 2014 at the Resilient Cities Congress  2014 in Bonn.
